If you've been in this school during week 0 of the semester, better known as orientation week, I'm pretty sure most of you would have heard the famous cheer used by the designers during the Design Orientation Camp!
Design got the best teh peng ah! Chicken cutlet!Design got the best teh peng ah! Nasi Padang!
That's right! This week, I'll be talking about the legendary chicken cutlet from The Designer Pad's western store, which majority the freshies have heard about more than anything else in week 0.
Located at Level 1 of the Design school, The Designer's Pad is a popular choice for not just the designers, but also students from all over the campus to fill their stomachs. You will definitely expect a long queue in front of the store almost everyday! If you don't, that would only mean that it's closed, or even worse, there's no more food left!
As a Design student myself, I swear by the store's chicken dishes! The other school serves pretty decent western food but nothing can take the place of Designer Pad's western store in my heart.
Here are 2 of the many choices they have, which really taste as great as they look!
Nacho Cheese Chicken Cutlet (without any add on) |
The picture on top will be of the Nacho Cheese Chicken Cutlet and at the bottom, the Chicken Chop. This are my go-to orders and they never once disappointed me. What is shown here is the regular order, which comes with the coleslaw, baked beans, fries and also the star of the plate, the chicken cutlet/chicken chop! The auntie running the store is really cheerful and easy-going so do not hesitate to request to swap out the coleslaw and beans for more fries if you like to!
The store also sells add-on for the mains and I highly recommend the butter rice, carbonara or even a sunny side up egg to go along your chicken cutlet if you are extremely hungry. If not, this serving will definitely be enough to please your stomach. The price range is around $3-$3.50 for a plate like this, which is very reasonably priced for the quantity served. What's not to love about this!
One thing about the western store in The Designer's Pad is that it isn't halal and I guess that disappoints the muslim students. However, I'll be back with more food next week, this time round where it'll be halal and as good as always!
Have a good week ahead, bye!
